Best websites to find property in Sweden in 2026

Most homes for sale in Sweden are listed on Hemnet, which publishes listings from estate agents. Booli collects listings from several sources and shows final sale prices. SökHem monitors the market for you and tells you when a home matches the areas you picked, including private sales. Boneo and the agents' own websites often show homes before they're listed. All of them are free for buyers.

Where are homes for sale listed in Sweden?

The sites do different jobs. Hemnet and Boneo show listings that estate agents publish. Booli pulls listings from the market and adds price data. SökHem searches for you and matches new homes against a profile you set up once. None of them has everything, and none costs a buyer anything, so most people who are actively looking use two or three at the same time. Here's what each one is good for.

Hemnet: the most listings

Hemnet is Sweden's largest property portal, and almost every agent-led sale ends up there. You search by area, price, size and type of home, and you can save searches as alerts. Hemnet also shows final prices for sold homes. The seller pays for the listing through their agent, and private individuals can't list on Hemnet themselves, so a home sold without an agent rarely appears there.

Booli: listings and final prices in one place

Booli is owned by the bank SBAB and gathers listings from across the market on one site. Its strength is price data: final prices and price history show what similar homes actually sold for before you bid. Booli has alerts and valuations and is free. You can't list a home on Booli yourself, so private sales only show up if they were published somewhere else first.

SökHem: alerts that search for you

On SökHem you draw your areas on a map and set price, size and type of home. The service then matches new homes against that profile and gets in touch when something fits, so you don't have to search every day. Matches come from several sources, including private sales that never reach the portals, because private sellers can list on SökHem for free. The site also shows price per square metre for every municipality and offers a free valuation. Creating a watchlist takes a couple of minutes.

Boneo: upcoming homes from partner agents

Boneo is a property portal closely tied to large estate agency chains. It's best at upcoming homes: properties an agent is preparing for sale and shows on Boneo before the wide launch. Its stock is limited to the partner agents' listings, so Boneo works as an early signal rather than your only site.

Estate agents' own websites

The big agency chains run their own websites with homes for sale, often with a list of what's coming soon. If you know which agents sell the most in your area, it can pay to watch their sites directly, or to contact them and ask to hear when something suitable comes in. There's more on this in our guide to finding a home before it's on Hemnet.

Bovision: one more place to look

Bovision is one of Sweden's older property sites and lists homes for sale. Its reach is smaller than Hemnet's, so it's best as an extra place to check.

How do I use the sites together?

A setup that covers almost the whole market: use Hemnet to see what's for sale right now, Booli to check final prices before you bid, and a watchlist on SökHem so new homes and private sales come to you. If you're looking in a competitive area, add Boneo and the biggest agents' sites to see what's about to launch. Use the same area and price limit everywhere so the results are easy to compare.

Can foreigners buy property in Sweden?

Yes. Sweden has no restrictions on foreign buyers, and you don't need to live in Sweden to own a home here. The practical hurdles are elsewhere. Most banks want a Swedish personal identity number, a Swedish income and a credit history before they'll lend, and most sites and banks use BankID to log in and sign. If you're buying a bostadsrätt (a co-operative apartment), the housing association must also approve you as a member. Read about the types of housing in Sweden before you start.

What do I need before I bid?

A mortgage pre-approval (lånelöfte) from a bank. The agent almost always asks for one before you can join the bidding, and it shows how much you can borrow. See how to get a mortgage pre-approval. Bids in Sweden aren't legally binding until the purchase contract is signed, for you or the seller. Our bidding guide explains how the process works.

Where do I find a rental?

Rentals are on different sites. Blocket closed its housing category in November 2025 and its rentals moved to Qasa. First-hand leases usually come through the municipal housing queue, and sublets are on Qasa and on SökHem's rental section. The full story is in alternatives to Blocket Bostad.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best website to find property in Sweden?

Hemnet has the most listings, Booli has the best price data, and SökHem searches for you and also shows private sales. Most buyers use two or three of them at once, because no single site has the whole market.

Do property websites in Sweden cost anything to use?

No. Hemnet, Booli, SökHem and Boneo are free for buyers. On Hemnet the seller pays for the listing through their agent. On SökHem listing is free for sellers too.

Are Swedish property sites available in English?

Listings are written in Swedish, since agents write them for the local market. SökHem's site and guides are available in English at sokhem.se/en, and a browser translation handles most listing text well.

How do I find homes sold without an agent in Sweden?

Private sellers can't list on Hemnet, and Blocket closed its housing category in 2025. On SökHem private sellers list for free, and a watchlist matches you with those homes.

Want to try it yourself? It is free: create a watchlist as a buyer, or list your home as a seller. See also pricing.
