We're in beta — and the core features are free

SökHem is launching now in an early beta. That means we're out testing, listening and improving as we go — and that you're with us from the very start.

During the beta period the core features are completely free — listing, matching and finding a home costs nothing. Optional professional services, such as broker assistance or photography, are paid add-ons priced by each provider.

Our long-term goal is for buying and selling through SökHem to be free — or at least so affordable that it's accessible to everyone, whatever their budget. A fair housing market shouldn't cost a fortune to take part in.

As with any early launch, technical issues can occur. We work continuously to resolve them and appreciate all feedback. Thank you for being here and building SökHem with us.

The problem we saw

A market that worked for everyone but you

For a long time it was an unquestioned truth in Sweden: if you want to sell your home, you hire a broker. If you want to find a new home, you scroll Hemnet hour after hour and hope the right listing shows up just as you happen to be looking.

We asked ourselves: why is there no platform that puts the individual at the center? Why can't you easily market your home directly to the right buyer — and choose for yourself how much help you want along the way, and pay accordingly? And why must a buyer chase homes instead of letting the right home find them?

The questions were simple. The answers were missing.

The unreasonable part

Fundamentally wrong, not just a little

Bidding over the phone. A single path to the market — the same setup and the same 2–3 percent commission of the sale price whether you need the full service or only part of it. Buyers who miss their dream home because they didn't happen to check their phone at exactly the right moment.

We thought it was unreasonable. The technology to solve this has existed for more than a decade. The problems remained anyway, because no one had prioritized solving them for the sake of the buyer and the private seller.

The decision

The platform we wished existed

Instead of complaining, we decided to build it. A platform where buyers describe exactly what they're looking for, and we match them with the right home directly, without them having to sit and scroll. A place where sellers can reach motivated, matched buyers directly — and choose for themselves how much help to bring in along the way.

We called it SökHem. Not because the name is what matters most, but because it describes exactly what we do. We search out homes for you, so you don't have to do it yourself.

We're still at the beginning, and that's by design

SökHem is a small team with a big conviction: the housing market in Sweden can work better for ordinary people. We're building this step by step, with every user as part of the journey.

Our vision is clear: a housing market that works for everyone, not just for those who already know how the system works. For everyone tired of chasing homes, and for every homeowner who has wondered why a sale has to cost so much.

SökHem was founded by Anton Wester and Sebastian Åkerberg Gonzales and is operated through Anton Wester AB. Anton also writes the guides in the knowledge base, aiming to make buying, selling and renting homes understandable — without you needing to be an expert or hire one.
